MACH Starting Block
Warm snow Air temperature -5>0
The blocks are powders that have been clumped together with paraffins. The difference between blocks and powders lies in their application. They are intended to be "scraped" onto the surface. This means that the material (as with powders) does not need to be extremely heated, which benefits the tension of the ski or snowboard. As a result, the wax from a Mach block will retain its effectiveness for a significantly longer time than a spray.
By "scratching," MACH is only applied to the top of the base. As a result, less MACH will be deposited on the ski, which can be interesting when combining HMach, accelerator, and spray wax. We always try to control the amount of MACH (as well as fluor) under the ski.
1. Brush the base with a nylon brush to prepare it for the Machblock. This should be done after scraping off any solid or liquid wax. Repeat approximately 10 times.
2. Apply the block to the base of the ski or snowboard, being careful not to apply too much. Normally, a 15g block can be used for approximately 50 pairs of skis. Applying too much is wasteful and offers no advantage.
3 Take a natural or synthetic cork block and work it back and forth to incorporate the propellant into the base. Continue rubbing until most of it is absorbed into the base.
4. Brush with a horsehair brush to polish the surface of the base. Remove excess propellant. Repeat approximately 10 times.
